May is a busy time of the year here at the library, and we have lots for you and your family to enjoy. Join us on May 4, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. in the library parking lot for an Ice Cream Social hosted by the Brookings-Harbor Chamber of Commerce. This event is a celebration of the official naming of the Brookings-Harbor Azalea Festival and Parade as an Oregon Heritage Tradition by the State of Oregon’s Parks and Recreation Department. Please bring a non-perishable can of food to benefit the Brookings-Harbor Food Bank.
It’s also time for the Friends of the Library’s book sale! Join us in the Large Meeting Room May 23-25 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and May 26 noon—3 p.m. The Friends of the Library are excited to announce that they are bringing back annual Friends of the Library memberships! Memberships are just $5 per year and can be purchased at the book sale. A membership will get you one hour early access for the first day of book sales, a one-time late fine forgiveness of up to $5, one free book at the Friends of the Library Book Store in the Library Annex, and entry into a door prize drawing. That’s a lot of value for $5 per year!
Please make a note that the library will be closed on Saturday, May 25 for Azalea Festival Saturday and Monday, May 27 for Memorial Day. We will also be closing early at 4 p.m. on Friday May 17 for a Staff Recognition Event.
