June 2019 Newsletter

By Julie Retherford

The library staff and board want to acknowledge the passing of beloved longtime library supporter and Board member Vi Lovejoy.  As with former director Susana Fernandez, you can see Vi’s name and impact here daily—building and vendor contracts, board decisions, fundraising efforts, the plaque in our library lobby, and more.  Even though I didn’t know Vi, I appreciate all the work she did for this library, and we all express our sympathy for her family.

It’s Summer Reading Time! To launch this year’s summer reading “A Universe of Stories” program, we are having a big Kick-Off BBQ and Touch-a-Truck Party on June 29 from 1 – 3 p.m.!  Join us outside in the overflow lot for free food, games, prizes, fire trucks, coast guard boats, and more.  Entry is free, and we’ll help you get signed up for our summer reading program. We’ll have reading goals and prizes for kids and adults throughout the summer.
