Our internet and computer services are available to all visitors to the library—with or without a library card!
The library offers free Wi-Fi for users with wireless-enabled devices such as laptops, smartphones, or tablets. To access Wi-Fi on your device, you may request the password at the front desk.
The computer lab offers eleven computer workstations. These computers use the Windows 7 operating system and all computers have the following programs installed:
- Adobe Reader
- Microsoft Office
- Internet Explorer 11
- Mozilla Firefox
- Google Chrome
These computers are available on the hour for exactly one hour. You may make a reservation for an available hour time-slot up to one week in advance via phone or at the front desk. Due to popular demand, it is highly recommended that users reserve their stations in advance.
If you reserve a workstation, please be sure to arrive promptly for your appointment. Because these workstations fill quickly, the user’s reservation will be forfeited to the next waiting person if the user has not arrived within ten minutes of their scheduled appointment.
The express computers are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis, and are limited to fifteen minutes of use per person. All of the programs offered on the computer lab stations are available on these computers as well.
Users may print from any of our workstations. Printing costs ten cents per page, payable by cash or check at the front desk. Come to the front desk to pick up your documents.
Please keep in mind that the library offers no color printing services at this time.
Things to remember when reserving or using a workstation:
Due to popular demand, the use of the library computers are limited to a maximum use of once per person, per day. For example, users who arrive early for an appointment to use a one-hour workstation may not use the Express Computers while they wait for their appointment. Users who disregard this policy will receive one warning. If this policy is ignored a second time, the user be asked to leave the library for the rest of the day.
If users need to save files and documents for later, we recommend bringing a flash drive, or uploading the files to a personal email or cloud storage account. To protect our users’ privacy, the computers are programmed to erase all saved and downloaded files when the computer is restarted. For that reason, files cannot be saved to the computer for later use.
