Renewal Policy and Card Limits

Renewal Policy

All on-site library materials may be checked out for three weeks. If you need more time, items which have not been reserved by another person may be renewed once for an additional three weeks. You can renew your materials in person, via phone, or by logging into your patron account on our online catalog. Please note that interlibrary loans (items that have been borrowed by request from another library) cannot be renewed.

Card limits

There is no limit on the total number of items that may be checked out; however, the following special collections limit the number of items you may check out on your card:

New Books: 3
Audiobooks: 6
Videos and DVDs: 6
Periodicals: 6

Patrons are also encouraged to check out only three books per subject at a time to ensure availability of items for our other patrons.

Overdue Policies and Additional Fees:

Overdue Fines

Patrons are provided with a receipt that lists the due date of each item when checking out materials at the circulation desk. After a three-day grace period, our fines for overdue items are ten cents per item per day. Fines only accrue on days that the library is open. If an account accrues $6.00 or more in fines and/or fees, the account will be blocked and patron will be unable to check out materials on their card until payment is made.

Overdue Notices

Ten days after the due date on an item has passed, an overdue notice will be mailed to the address on your account. A second notice is sent after twenty days, and a final notice will be sent if the item has not been returned thirty days after the due date.

Additional Fees

If an item is not returned ten days after receipt of the final notice, the item will be considered lost and patron will be billed the cost of replacing the item, in addition to a $3.25 processing fee per item. These fees also apply to damaged items.

Interlibrary Loans

If the library does not have an item you are looking for, we may be able to locate and request it from another library. To cover the cost of postage, the cost to pick up an interlibrary loan is $2.00 for any item borrowed from a library outside of Curry County. If the item can be found within Curry County, it may be picked up at no cost. To request an interlibrary loan, you may request and fill out a form at the front desk, or you may call and request it during operating hours. For added convenience, you may fill out a request on our online catalog. Simply click on “Request Materials” on the right-hand side of the page and complete the form.

You will be notified when the item is available for pickup, or in the event that the library is unable to locate or borrow the item from another library.

Talking Book and Braille Library Services

The Oregon State Library’s Talking Book and Braille service is available to qualifying print-disabled Oregonians. If you would like to determine eligibility and apply for services, applications are available at the front desk. You may also apply for this service online at

Home-Bound Services

If you are unable to come to the library in person, you may request our home-bound services by filling out the form at the bottom of this page or by requesting a copy of the form at the front desk. We will match you with a volunteer to deliver books, audio books, and DVDs of your choosing. Please call or email the library if you require additional assistance.

Homebound Form
