YOUTH READING LOG

YOUTH READING BINGO SHEET

This year, Miss Linda has teamed up with Pete the Cat to create a bunch of fun activities. Besides our usual reading logs, Pete the Cat is giving Miss Linda a hand at creating fun, hands-on events for our summer programs with each day having a different theme. It’s Treasure Hunting on Tuesdays with kids actively on the search for Pete the Cat. Wild Wednesdays bring all type of fun and excitement as we go all out to explore something new. It’s full steam ahead as we roll into Thinking Thursdays and pull together elements from around our world to build and design stuff. Fantastic Fridays put us all in a good mood as we know Miss Linda will have a surprise event for us. Silliness on Saturdays put an end to our week as we shake things up by getting our wiggles out and learning about life in motion.

How do I participate?

Join us for SRP Registration on Saturday, June 23, between 3:00 and 5:30pm. Miss Linda will be available to answer questions about SRP and hand out a sign-up packet that includes a book bag, your first reading log, a reading bingo card, and a bookmark. Refreshments will be served.

IF YOU CANNOT JOIN US FOR REGISTRATION, please call Miss Linda at 541-469-7738.

My family will be out of town for part of the summer. Will I miss Summer Reading?

We have special events planned at the library, but you can still participate in our reading log and reading bingo prize programs! We’ve made all of our Summer Reading Materials available online, including reading logs and reading bingo sheets. All Youth SRP materials must be turned in to Miss Linda, but you can still read books to fill out your reading log and bingo cards while you’re out of town.

READING BINGO CARD AND RULES

How do I participate?

It’s easy! You can start turning in reading bingo cards beginning the week of June 25. Click on the link below to print a Reading Bingo Card, or pick one up at the front desk. Then find and read books that match with the theme on the bingo squares. When you’ve filled in a bingo or a blackout, turn in your completed Bingo Card by mail, email, or by dropping it off at the library. Don’t forget to include your name and phone number on the back of the Bingo Card–that’s how you get entered to win a prize.

When is the prize drawing?

We’ll hold our prize drawings on August 20, 2018. If you’ve won a prize, we will call you at the phone number you provided on your completed Reading Bingo Card. See the back of the Reading Bingo Card for full rules and prize descriptions.

How many bingo cards can I turn in?

You’re allowed to turn in one Reading Bingo Card per person, per week. That means you can turn in up to 8 bingo cards over the course of Summer Reading 2018. The complete rules and details for Reading Bingo are included on the back of every Reading Bingo Card.

I will be out of town for part of the summer. Will I miss Reading Bingo?

You might miss special events planned here at the library, but you can still participate in Reading Bingo! There are three ways to turn in your completed bingo card: by mail, by email, or by dropping it off at the library. See the rules on the back of your bingo card for full instructions.

Help! I don’t know what to read!

We can help! Ask a library staff member for a recommendation, or scroll through the slideshows below for a Summer Reading recommendation. Most of these suggestions can help you complete a square on your Reading Bingo Card.
