Summer Reading 2026

Plant a Seed, Read!

June 17 – July 31, 2026

Just like farms grow food that nourish our bodies, libraries grow ideas that nourish our minds. This year, we’re offering events and reading challenges that invite readers of all ages to explore culture, history, science, health, and human connection.

The benefits of summer reading are clear: National research finds that students who participate in library summer reading programs scored higher on reading achievement tests at the beginning of the next school year than those who did not participate. Summer Reading is a free an easy way for families to bridge this summer gap, while inspiring literacy and life-long learning!

If you registered for Summer Reading by May 27, 2025, you’ll receive a free Summer Reading T Shirt and Welcome Kit! Shirts and Welcome Kits will be handed out at our Summer Reading Kickoff Party on June 17. If you can’t make the kickoff party, you can pick it up at the front desk until June 27.
