Play is one of the ways we learn to relate to others, to think in new ways, to appreciate the art of storytelling, and to foster friendships, new and old. This year’s Summer Reading Program, Level Up at Your Library, is an all ages summer reading program based around puzzles and games!

Whether you’re playing with STEM concepts or gamifying your reading logs, learning to play a new tabletop game or outsmarting your first Escape Room, Level Up at Your Library reminds us that libraries are not just a space for knowledge—they are a space for fun!

If you register for Summer Reading by May 31, 2025, you’ll receive a free Summer Reading T Shirt and Welcome Kit! Shirts and Welcome Kits will be handed out at our Summer Reading Kickoff Party on June 21. If you can’t make the kickoff party, you can pick it up at the front desk anytime between June 21 and July 3.

Summer Reading FAQs

Who can participate? Summer Reading is open to everyone! We’ll have reading challenges and activities for toddlers, children, teens, and adults.

What if I don’t register by May 31? You won’t get a T Shirt or Welcome Kit, but you’re still welcome to participate in any of our Summer Reading Challenges for badges and prizes, and are welcome to attend all of our special events July 5 – August 2.

Does it cost anything? Nope! All Summer Reading events, challenges, prizes, and shirts are completely FREE!

Can I complete both reading challenges? Yes, you can choose to participate in one or both reading challenges. Please note that due to its more complex structure, we do recommend the Bookopoly challenge for readers 10 and up.

I’ve got a pretty busy summer. Can I still participate if I plan to spend time out of town? Absolutely! You can complete either reading challenge on your own time, and you can drop in on any event or program you like.
